Professional experience

The Consul General has over a decade of experience working in different positions for the Government of Nepal. He entered the civil service in 2011 as Section Officer, swiftly rising to the rank of Under Secretary in 2016 and to the current rank of Joint Secretary in 2022.

During these years, he has held various positions in Ministry of Defence; Ministry of Industry, Supply and Commerce; Ministry of Local Development; Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration; Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security; Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport; Department of Transport Management; Ministries under Provincial Governments of Bagmati and Koshi Province before assuming his duties as the Consul General on 28 November 2023.

Prior to joining civil service, the Consul General held substantive experience working for NGOs/INGOs including Action Aid International and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) under the themes of participatory development; disaster risk reduction and management and biodiversity management.

Academic Qualifications

              Diploma in Education and Law

          Master’s Degree in Sociology; Public Administration and Economics

The Consul General has also officially attended various trainings and courses related to food security, disaster response and labour diplomacy in Italy, Bangladesh, China and Thailand.
