Recent Updates Regarding Travel to Nepal

This is to inform that the Government of Nepal has recently issued a new travel guideline for people travelling to Nepal. Based on the decision of the government, we request people travelling to Nepal from Sichuan Province, Guizhou Province and Chongqing Municipality of China to observe the following guidelines:

  1. All people travelling to Nepal, if they are fully vaccinated, need not stay in quarantine and can obtain visa on arrival as well, upon submission of the following documents in addition to those required for the visa purpose:
  • COVID 19 vaccine certificate issued at least 14 days prior to travel
  • Proof of a negative COVID 19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test (RT-PCR, Gene Expert, True NAAT or WHO accredited test) obtained within 72 hours before check in. Children who are 5 years of age and younger are exempted to pre-departure testing.
  • If someone is travelling for mountaineering, trekking or any other activity requiring permit, a copy of the permit issued by the concerned authority of Nepal
  • Proof of hotel reservation in Nepal
  • Printed copy of the International Traveler Online Arrival Form (Fill up the International Travelers Online Arrival Form available at ccmc.gov.np , submit it online and get a printed copy of it)
  1. People who are not fully vaccinated, still can travel to Nepal, but they must obtain visa from the Embassy or the Consulates before their departure and submit other documents as mentioned above. They must remain in hotel quarantine for 10 days at their own cost upon arrival in Nepal; and will be allowed to go out if they are tested negative on the 11th day of the quarantine.
  2. Nepali nationals and Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) travelling to Nepal will be allowed to go to their destination directly if they are fully vaccinated and submit a PCR test negative report as well as a printed copy of the International Traveler Online Arrival Form.
  3. People of Nepali origin or Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) and people who are married to Nepali citizens, although they are not fully vaccinated, are allowed to travel to Nepal and can get visa upon arrival on the following special conditions only:
  • People travelling to Nepal to attend funerals and mourning (who can provide a recommendation letter from the concerned local level)
  • People with a serious medical condition, people with disability and their attendants (who can provide a medical certificate and a recommendation letter from the concerned local level)
  • Senior citizens above 75 years and their attendants as well as parents/guardians accompanying children below 5 years (who can provide a recommendation letter form the concerned local level).
  • People travelling to look after their family member/s who is/are seriously ill and admitted to ICU Ventilator who can provide a prior medical document and a recommendation letter from the concerned local level stating that there is are not other family members to care for them in Nepal
  1. All travelers arriving in Nepal must undertake mandatory antigen test upon arrival, they will be allowed to proceed to their destination if the report is negative but if the report comes positive, they will be sent to designated hospital or isolation center.
  2. Diplomats and their families are also eligible for on-arrival visas. However, if they are not fully vaccinated, they have to obtain visas from the Nepali diplomatic missions and remain in quarantine for 10 days at their residence or privately managed accommodation.
  3. Nationals from Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan and Syria and foreigners holding temporary travel document and emergency passport must obtain visa from the Embassy or Consulate and are not allowed for on-arrival visa.

最新尼泊尔入境旅行指南

本通知为尼泊尔政府近期发布的针对入境人员的最新入境旅行指南。

根据政府决议,要求来自中华人民共和国四川省、贵州省和重庆市的入境尼泊尔人员遵照以下入境指南:

  1. 所有入境尼泊尔的人员,若已完成新冠疫苗全程接种,则无需隔离观察,并可在抵达后办理落地签证。办理落地签证除签证申请材料外,还需提交以下材料:
  • 新冠疫苗接种已完成至少14天的证明文件
  • 入境前72小时内新冠肺炎核酸检测阴性报告证明文件(RT-PCR, Gene Expert, True NAAT 或其他世卫组织认可的检测)
  • 若因登山、徒步旅行或任何其他需要许可证的活动而入境尼泊尔,需提供尼泊尔相关部门出具的许可证复印件
  • 尼泊尔酒店预订单
  • 国际旅客抵达在线登记表格的纸质打印件(登录ccmc.gov.np网站,在线填写国际旅客在线登记抵达表,提交并获取打印件回执)
  1. 未完成新冠疫苗全程接种的人员入境尼泊尔,须在出发前向尼泊尔驻外使领馆提交上述材料以办理签证。此类入境者还需在抵达尼泊尔后进行10天的酒店隔离,费用自理。如在第11天核酸检测结果呈阴性,则隔离解除。
  2. 尼泊尔公民和非居民尼泊尔人(NRNs)入境尼泊尔,如已完成新冠疫苗全程接种,并提供核酸(PCR)检测阴性报告及国际旅客抵达在线登记表格的打印副本,则可直接前往目的地。
  3. 尼泊尔裔或非居民尼泊尔人(NRNs)以及尼泊尔公民的外籍配偶,如已完成新冠疫苗全程接种,允许前往尼泊尔,但只有在以下特殊条件下才能 在抵达时办理落地签证:
  • 前往尼泊尔参加葬礼和哀悼会的人员(需提供地方级别相关方出具的推荐信)
  • 有严重疾病的人员、残疾人及其护理人员(需提供地方级别相关方出具的推荐信医疗证明和推荐信)
  • 75岁以上的老年人及其陪同人员以及携5岁以下儿童的父母/监护人(需提供地方级别相关方出具的推荐信)
  • 前往看护重病并入住ICU病房的家庭成员的人员,需提供先前的医疗文件和地方级别相关方出具的推荐信,以证明在尼泊尔境内无其他家庭成员可以照顾该病患
  1. 所有入境者须在抵达尼泊尔后进行强制性的抗原检测,若检测报告为阴性,则允许前往目的地,但若检测报告为阳性,则将被送往指定医院或隔离中心。
  2. 外交官及其家属也可办理落地签证。但若尚未完成新冠疫苗全程接种,则须从尼泊尔外交使团处获取签证,并在其官邸或私人住所隔离10天。
  3. 来自尼日利亚、加纳、津巴布韦、斯威士兰、喀麦隆、索马里、利比里亚、埃塞俄比亚、伊拉克、巴勒斯坦、阿富汗和叙利亚的公民以及持临时旅行证件和紧急护照的外国人必须从尼泊尔驻外使领馆获取签证,不能办理落地签证。
