The Consulate General of Nepal, Chengdu organized a Pre-Investment Seminar in
association with Sichuan Chamber of International Commerce on 25 March 2024 in the
Shangri La Hotel, Chengdu of the People’s Republic of China. The program was organized
in light of the Nepal Investment Summit 2024 that the Government of Nepal has decided to
host on 28-29 April 2024.
While delivering the remarks at the program Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Investment
Board Mr. Sushil Bhatta outlined Nepal Investment Board role in attracting and promoting
mega investment projects and its role as secretariat of Nepal Investment Summit 2024,
while promising professional services from its end. The Consul General of the Consulate
General of Nepal, Chengdu, Mr. Suresh Raut in his speech provided information regarding
current economic and business environment of Nepal, and shared insight on how the
investors and business from the Southwest China can support in making Nepal Investment
Summit a success. Key speaker of the program, Mrs. Lei Xuejie, Vice President of CCPIT
Sichuan Council, while defining Nepal as an attractive investment destination urge the
investors and business from the Sichuan to accelerate investment in Nepal. She also
mentioned willingness from the CCPIT Sichuan Council to work together with Consulate
General and relevant Nepali government agencies in creating win-win business and
investment opportunities.
Official from Investment Board of Nepal presented in detail regarding investment climate,
process of investment and investment opportunities in Nepal. Similarly, the official from
Consulate General made presentation regarding the Consulate General and facilitation it
provides regarding Nepal Investment Summit. Recorded video message of some high-level
dignitaries were also played during the event. In recorded video message Right Honorable
Prime Minister Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” expressed commitment to transfer
Nepal into premier investment destination by providing all kind of governmental support.
Similarly, Honorable Minister of Finance Mr. Barsha Man Pun assured perspective
investors good business environment, safety of the investment and facilitation for easy
repatriation of profit and income. Likewise, Ambassador of the Nepal to People’s Republic
of China His Excellency Mr. Bishnu Pukar Shrestha called on the perspective investor and
businessperson from the Southwest China to grasp investment opportunities available in
Nepal.
Entrepreneurs, Investors, Businesspeople, Chinese Government Officials, Experts, Nepali
communities including students, business persons, and professionals attended the program.
A gift consisting of ceramic cup with Nepal Investment Summit 2024 logo and Investment
Guidebook translated in Chinese language was provided to the participants.
